Learning to Love Broccoli – Interns at the Bed-Stuy Farm

by Dulce Fernandes | 01.04.2011 | 2 Comments | Food post on Ecocentric |

The Bed-Stuy Farm is a thriving community food garden in Brooklyn that provides fresh, locally-grown produce to over 3,000 people a month. This urban oasis, located in a neighborhood where access to fresh and healthful food is sorely lacking, was threatened by development but public pressure appears to have saved this inspirational example of urban agriculture. The farm is also an important learning ground for youth who intern at the garden throughout the year.

God bless you for having this program. There is no doubt that these young people will pay it forward by teaching others. Teach a man to fish……….
